Meet Fall 2025 NeurodivURGENT Fellow: Elocyn Grant

Updated: Jun 20

Classification - Junior, Clark Atlanta University

During the application process, Elocyn expressed that her interest in the fellowship stemmed from her "strong passion for helping people and her desire to understand the mind and how it works to affect human behavior." As an HBCU psychology student, she noted that she has become increasingly invested in understanding the experiences of individuals in marginalized communities, including minority populations. She believes that it is important to ensure that spaces are truly inclusive and afford all people the opportunity to feel accepted and understood. Elocyn also noted that while neurodivergent populations have a plethora of unique qualities, these differences in no way justify limited access to resources and supports.

Elocyn is passionate about ensuring that representation exists on behalf of neurodivergent populations and that their emotional well-being is fully supported and hopes to make a substantial impact to that end through her work as a budding mental health professional.

Three things that Elocyn is most proud of about herself:

1. Emotional growth

2. Drive for self and others

3. Self-Awareness
