About Dr. Middleton
Dr. Tanya J. Middleton is an Assistant Professor in the Educational Studies Department, Counselor Education Program at The Ohio State University. She is also the Coordinator of the Clinical Mental Health Program and the Director of Field Placement. Dr. Middleton earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education & Supervision at The University of Akron. Additionally, Dr. Middleton is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervisory credentials, a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a Substance Abuse Professional with over 15 years of professional experience working in the community and private practice settings. She is the Proprietor and Clinical Director of a private counseling practice near Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Middleton has authored or co-authored book chapters and numerous refereed journal articles on access, equity, and inclusion in counselor education, higher education, gifted and talented education, addictions, social justice, and clinical supervision. She has also presented her research at local, regional, and national conferences in counseling and education. She has been invited as a guest lecturer, keynote speaker, and panelist on topics relevant to her field.
