About Mrs. Barrett

Jeanna Barrett is a lifelong learner who has been in education for nearly 20 years. After working in positions from tutor to assistant teacher, to lead teacher, to mentor teacher, and then to instructional coach, she understands what it takes to build success from the inside out. Through reflection, Jeanna implements the necessary changes required to improve her leadership approach and the practice of the teachers she coaches. Through data analysis, she restructures her guidance with teachers’ plans so that they will be able to go before their students with their new plans toward success. Mrs. Barrett has been nominated as Teacher of the Year in Orleans Parish and Jefferson Parish in back-to-back years, 2023 and 2024. She has also been nominated for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching this school year. With these accolades, she hopes to be an inspiration and role model for excellence to all those who look up to her.
