Enoguese "Ese" Okao

NeurodivURGENT Fellow - Fall 2025

Junior | Georgetown University

At NeurodivURGENT, we believe that supportive environments are essential to accomplishing goals in a healthy manner, no matter the field. That being said, during the application process we asked the question below. Here's what Ese had to say...

Q: If you had a friend who was extremely talented but lacked confidence in their ability to succeed at something they really wanted to do, what advice would you give to encourage them to take the leap?

A: "I would remind them that courage isn't about having no fear - it's about moving forward even when the fear is there. I'd tell them that their talent and passion are real, even if self-doubt tries to convince them otherwise. Even if the first attempt doesn't go perfectly, every step builds confidence. I'd probably also say, "What if it does work out? You owe yourself the chance to find out."
