Sensory-Friendly Visual Arts Showcase Featuring
Joy Lyons

About Mrs. Lyons:

Mrs. Joy Lyons is a retired educator who currently resides in Atlanta, GA. She began her second career as an artist only five years ago with no formal training and considers herself self-taught.

Her artwork features abstract and figurative paintings, and she loves to explore and experiment with colors, shapes, textures and dimensions. She is always excited and surprised as the layers of paint reveal their beauty.  Her figurative paintings depict people going about their daily life. Although she experiments with a variety of materials, she primarily uses oil and acrylic paints. Her paintings are in private collections across the U.S. and abroad and are regularly featured in therapeutic settings due to their calming nature.
